Jesus’s teaches us how to live a life free of sin. Of course Jesus knows it’s impossible for humans to be perfect living in satan’s domain. But the important thing is to always keep trying.
In heaven we will be made perfect. In the meantime, the following verses stress how having a personal relationship with Jesus is beneficial and important (if you want to be invited into Heaven):
John 15:15: “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”
John 14:23: “Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.’”
Revelation 3:20: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
John 17:3: “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”
