Hope, Healing and Happiness in Trauma Recovery

“8 Coins Tattoo Tarot”

Sometimes, letting go doesn’t mean the feelings are gone. It means you’ve finally begun to see things differently.

I’ve been reflecting on my tarot reading and the intentions behind my full moon ritual. What I’m seeing is a connection between releasing the past, accepting what is, and making room in my heart for something new.

Perhaps one of the hardest things to let go of isn’t the person themselves, but the hope of what we thought could be. The future we imagined. The version of someone we held onto, sometimes placing them on a pedestal until we could no longer see them clearly.

And even when we begin to understand things differently, the grief doesn’t simply disappear.

I can acknowledge that I still feel sadness over the loss while also recognizing that I don’t have to keep holding on to the same dream. I can forgive without pretending the damage never happened. I can release the hope of one particular outcome without closing my heart to love itself.

My Queen of Cups feels especially meaningful in this reading. To me, she represents a heart opening not because the past no longer hurts, but because a new understanding is making room for something different.

Maybe this is what letting go really looks like.

Not forgetting. Not pretending. Not forcing ourselves to stop caring.

Just learning to see clearly, accepting what we can no longer change, and trusting God to guide us toward whatever comes next.

I may be letting go of the dream without letting go of my ability to dream. 💜🙏
